Sumanth, who's next awaiting the releases of Anaganaga Oka Rowdy, Sita Ramam and Aham Reboot this year, has signed a new film. He'll reunite with director Santhossh Jagarlapudi, who made the critically acclaimed supernatural thriller Subrahmanyapuram with him a few years ago. Pradeep of KR Creations is bankrolling the untitled film which was officially announced today.

Like Subrahmanyapuram, even this project will revolve around an old temple. We promise you adequate adrenaline rush and thrills, assures director Santosh Jagarlapudi. The film's pre-production formalities are being wrapped at a quick pace now. The principal shoot of the project will take off soon. We'll announce more details about the cast, crew and other technicians shortly, shared prodcer K Pradeep.

Given the similarities of the plot to Subramanyapuram, are the makers hinting at a sequel now? Will Eesha Rebba be retained as the female lead? We'll know soon. Subramanyapuram had marked the directorial debut of Santhossh Jagarlapudi, who directed a short named Neram earlier. Recently, he made a sports drama Lakshya starring Naga Shaurya and Ketika Sharma in the lead (that's currently streaming on aha).

Sumanth's next big release is Dulquer Salmaan-Mrunal Thakur starrer Sita Ramam on August 5, in which he plays a key role. The release dates of his other projects haven't been announced yet. He was last seen in ZEE5's direct-to-OTT release, Malli Modalaindi, a relationship drama.
