Stree 2 worldwide box office collection day 9: Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, clashed with two Bollywood movies on Independence Day. Stree 2 was part of a three-way box office clash with Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. Despite that, it has emerged as a box office winner. Within 7 days of its theatrical release, Stree 2 crossed the Rs 400 crore (gross) mark at the global box office. And on day nine, it has achieved yet another milestone.

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao returned with Stree 2 after six years of their 2018 film. They reprised their respective characters in the film. As far as the movie's box office performance is concerned, Stree 2 has hit it out of the park. The horror-comedy continues to create magic in its second week of theatrical release. Stree 2 minted Rs 456 crore (gross) at the worldwide box office.

Maddock Films shared an official update about Stree 2's global box office figures on Instagram. While sharing it, they captioned the post, "Stree 2 continues its magic in its second weekend! The storm has only grown stronger! Thank you everyone for your continued love and support (sic)."

Abhishek Banerjee on Stree 2's success

Meanwhile, in an interview with The Indian Express, Abhishek Banerjee expressed happiness about the massive success of Stree 2. The actor said, "It is unbelievable. I am listening to beautiful stories about how people are enjoying the movie, whistling and clapping at every scene, and turning in the film, they are dancing to the songs."

Banerjee added that he feels a sense of achievement for being a part of a franchise that is big and is loved by the audience. The actor, who plays Jana in Stree 2, feels this moment in his career is surreal.

Stree 2 on OTT

Once Stree 2's theatrical run ends, the film will head for its OTT premiere. The Amar Kaushik directorial is confirmed to have its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
