Stree 2 not the first Hindi film, but first 'only Hindi language film' to cross Rs 600 crore mark at the Box Office

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 has become the biggest blockbuster of 2024. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror comedy has a theatrical release on August 15, clashing with Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa at the box office. Stree 2, however, emerged as a box office winner. The film has now created history by becoming the first film to enter the ₹600-crore club.

Stree 2 has made history by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the ₹600 crore mark at the domestic box office. On its 6th Sunday, the film saw an impressive jump and earned ₹5.32 crore. The film's total collection now stands at ₹604.22 crore.

The film has been a massive hit across all regions and demographics in India. The horror-comedy has outperformed sever other major Hindi releases, including lifetime business of Hindi versions of Jawan and Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor as well as Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

What is the story of Stree 2?

The film, also starring Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee is the sequel to the 2018 hit Stree. The narrative of the film follows the adventure of Vicky (Rajkummar) and his friends as they face a new demon (Sarkata) in Chanderi. Shraddha (Stree ki beti) joins them in their mission to finish Sarkata. The film also has cameo appearances by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films

When and where to watch Stree 2 on OTT?

Stree 2 is still successfully running in cinemas. However, as per an X account, Stree 2 is likely to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 27. The Amar Kaushik directorial is expected to be available for rent on the same date.
