Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik and starring Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles, has crossed another milestone
Shraddha Kapoor in Stree 2
Stree 2 continues to find success at the Box Office despite minor hurdles. The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starring film is now the second highest grossing film of all time. This means the movie has beaten the likes of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan as well as Sunny Deol's Gadar 2. Here's the breakup of Stree 2 over the fourth weekend...
In the third week, Stree 2 minted Rs. 5-6 crores, a trend which continued on its fourth Thursday and Friday too. On the fourth Saturday, though, the film earned Rs. 8.5 crores, according to a report on ETimes. The mogie earned Rs. 10.75 crores on day 25, which was the fourth Sunday. Thus, Stree 2 has earned Rs. 527 crores in India so far. It is to be noted that this happened despite Ganpati Visarjan, which also drew in a huge crowd. This is a feat for the film in itself.
With a net collection of Rs. 640 crores in India, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan remains the highest-grossing Bollywood film to date. However, Stree 2 has come pretty close to beating it. The movie has already surpassed the Box Office collections of Pathaan and Gadar 2.
There were speculations that Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT could affect Stree 2 Box Office, but nothing like that happened, and the movie crossed another milestone. The coming Friday though, there are two more female-centric movies releasing, which might give some competition to Stree 2. Kangana Ranaut's Emergency (seeing her in the role of former PM Indira Gandhi) and Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders releases on September 13. Whether they will slow down Stree 2 Box Office, remains to be seen.
