Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 is finally in Rs 500 crore club, and is now heading towards week 4
Stree 2
It has already been three weeks since Stree 2 was released in theatres, and while the movie was unstoppable in the first week, more recently, it has seen a drop. The Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao starrer was struggling to reach Rs. 500 crore mark, which initially seemed plausible in its second week itself. However, the drop was a given, and now the movie has finally reached the milestone in India. Here's the detailed Box Office collection of Stree 2...
Stree 2 minted Rs. 5 crores on Thursday, according to a report on Sacnilk. It is to be noted that the movie has been earning in the same range since its third Monday. On day 22, the net collections for Stree 2 in India are Rs. 502.90 crores.
As Stree 2 enters its fourth week today (technically yesterday because the film was released on Thursday, Independence Day i.e. on August 15), the movie could see a jump over the weekend. However, there is one big factor to take into consideration: the Thalapathy Vijay factor. Vijay's movie GOAT is out in theatres and could end up being a competitor. Vijay enjoys a massive fanbase across the nation, and his movie has people especially piqued. Thus, they could end up watching the film in theatres, which might affect Stree 2 Box Office at least slightly.
The Amar Kaushik directorial, also starring Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles with Akshay Kumar in a cameo appearance, does not have any other competitor from Bollywood, at least this week. Kangana Ranaut's Emergency has been postponed, and Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders will be out next week. In the time period, Stree 2 might aim at Rs. 600 crores next. Nonetheless, the film has already beaten Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal Box Office both domestically and worldwide. So, it surely is on the right track.
