Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2, among one of the most awaited films of the year, has opened its doors for advance booking and the numbers for day one are here already. It is just the first day and the movie has minted nearly Rs. 25 lakhs already! The opening is a fair and has the potential of growth, mainly because the original film was extremely loved by the viewers. But, we live in a new era, where OTT is ruling just as much. So will the film be affected? Here's analyzing the first day report of Stree 2 advance Box Office collection to find out...

Stree 2 day 1 advance booking

4239 tickets were sold for Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 during the advance booking on day 1, according to a report on Sacnilk. For early numbers, the count is good, and the Box Office numbers expected currently are 24.61 lacs. This is for a total number of 1540 shows.

One theatre houseful already in Delhi-NCR

With Rs. 5.65 lacs coming from Delhi-NCR itself, with 281 shows running in the city, the movie is expected to perform better than most in the region, at least according to the early data.

The best performing city, not-so-surprisingly, is Mumbai. For 260 shows, the film mints Rs. 5.9 lacs from the region.

Kolkata leads at the third spot, with Rs. 3.67 lacs minted already for merely 90 shows. Pune comes close with Rs. 2.12 lacs for 91 shows.

Why Stree 2 could end up performing really well at the Box Office, at least on day 1

Back in 2018, Amar Kaushik's Stree featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor paved the way for a horror-comedy franchise in India. Many films from the very franchise (Bhediya, Munjya) are already out, and for those who have been following the story, they will be interested in finding out what happens next. What's more, is that the mystery behind Shraddha Kapoor's character is likely to be slowly unveiled with Stree 2. So, fans of the movie are sure to watch the film in cinemas. The other benefit is that Stree 2, also starring Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in the lead roles, releases on a holiday, which is Independence Day. So, fans of the film and franchise are most likely to end up in theatres on the release day i.e. August 15 itself, and if not, they will want to catch up to the movie two days later, which is a weekend. Thus, Stree 2 is likely to have a grand opening. All eyes are on the film for sure.
