The duo is in the limelight at this moment for being on the sets of the widely popular Stranger Things season 5, a show that now moves towards concluding its five-season run on Netflix. But as this side of the Stranger Things world ends, there are spin-offs and prequels already planned to keep it going. However, it turns out that this is not it for the Duffer Brothers, who have found another completely different show to keep themselves on Netflix. It is a horror series titled Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen.

Stranger Things Creators to Produce New Netflix Show

You read that right. The makers of Stranger Things have now decided to produce a new series for Netflix, one where there is a wedding in sight and everything that can go wrong goes drastically wrong. Hence the name Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen. The show has been greenlit by the streamer and is part of the deal they cracked with the Duffer Brothers in 2022. Peter Friedlander, Netflix's VP, Scripted Series (US & Canada), added, "We're thrilled to collaborate once again with dream partners Matt, Ross, and Hilary to bring this unexpected and spine-tingling story to life through Haley's uniquely riveting vision."

The official synopsis for Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen reads, "Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen is an atmospheric horror series set at a wedding, following a bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill-fated nuptials. That's not a spoiler; just read the title." The show will have Andrea Sperling as the executive producer, with Boston also serving as the executive producer.

While Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen is still in the future, the Duffer Brothers are now busy on the sets of Stranger Things Season 5. Earlier this week, the makers shared a special video on their social media that gave a gateway into what is happening behind the scenes. Sadie Sink has returned to play Max, the team has wrapped up half the shoot, and there is a whole lot of drama packed as the recurring cast has returned to shape the final season of the much-loved show.
