Hollywood actor Sterling K. Brown predicted a surprising Oscar win, but despite competing as the best supporting actor for his performance in American fiction, he feels that there is another strong contender that might take away his chance, and he is fine with it. It is none other than Oppenheimer star Robert Downey Jr. The moment of intuition happened during his appearance on The Graham Norton Show as a celebrity guest, along with Colman Domingo. “There’s no losing yet, it’ll happen in its own due time,” he joked.

The 47-year-old actor appeared on the comedy chat show ‘The Graham Norton Show’ as a guest alongside Dakota Johnson and Colman Domingo. While the Waves actor was unsure of his Oscar win for this year, he predicted that Colman Domingo, who is also vying for an Oscar in the best actor category (Rustin), might just win. “Colman will probably win. I know that I’m not going to win,” Sterling K. Brown said.

Sterling K. Brown further lauded his fellow Academy Award contender Robert Downey Jr. for his performance in the biographical drama film Oppenheimer and said that he deserves to win.

“Robert Downey Jr. is going to win, and he’s incredibly deserving. He’s an incredible actor. You should give him love,” Brown added.

Sterling K. Brown shared his Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor with other acclaimed actors like Robert Downey Jr. Robert De Niro, Ryan Gosling, and Mark Ruffalo, who are all vying for the upcoming 2024 Oscar awards slated for March.

The Emmy Award-winning actor also expressed his gratitude for grabbing the opportunity to compete with the best of acting talent. “And the fact that I get a chance to be nominated along with him, Mr. [Robert] De Niro, Ryan Gosling, and [Mark] Ruffalo, I’m just happy to be in the room,” the proud actor said.

American Fiction, which bagged five Oscar nods, including best film and best actor for Jeffrey Wright, is based on the 2001 novel Erasure by Percival Everett, marks the feature film debut for filmmaker Cord Jefferson, and follows the troubled novelist/professor.
