Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3 episode 5 delves deep into Hunter and Crosshair’s issues
Story:
Omega and Crosshair are now reunited with Hunter and Wrecker. Things have not been the same ever since Crosshair separated from the group and there are issues that need to be addressed. Episode 5 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3 touches upon those issues.
Review:
After the reunion, it is a new day for The Bad Batch, especially for Omega, who has managed to bring them all together. Of course, except Tech, who is believed to be dead. Yes, Echo joins the gang as well and is a refreshing change in the episode.
Crosshair comes as the surprise this time around. Not as much, considering his personality, but he still doesn't instantly fit in like before. The hound Batcher, on the other hand, has adjusted better than ever. In fact, he plays the best mate of them all.
Crosshair and Hunter have a moment neither of them would have probably expected, but it works. Unfortunately, that doesn't last for too long but even in arguments, the two are something.
The gang faces a challenge which tests especially Hunter and Crosshair’s bond more than ever. The episode will reveal whether they win or lose in this test. One thing is for certain, this episode is all about them and deservingly so.
Verdict:
Episode 4 of The Bad Batch had already given us a hint about Crosshair and Hunter and episode 5 takes that ahead beautifully. It tells you about their complex equation in the simplest and most effective way possible. That Dave Filoni let the characters express exactly how they feel rather than portraying them as soft, is what works really well with this episode. This could probably be the best episode of the season for that very reason.
