Debutant director Elan has spilled the beans about how he met Kavin and about the young talent's acting chops

Kavin’s upcoming film Star has been making a lot of noise among fans who have been waiting to see the budding talent on screen after his much successful outing Dada. Elan, who is directing Star, spoke about Kavin’s acting methods in a recent interview. The debutant director pointed out that the Dada actor is very conscious about not going overboard with his acting.

“I see Kavin as a relatable actor. He is also very conscious about not going overboard when it comes to acting. Even while shooting for Star there were few scenes, where it is required to be a little more than natural acting. Even in those moments, he was very conscious about how much reaction is required,” the director revealed. He also added that the actor maintains a ‘metre’ for acting which he appreciates.

Elan also revealed he did not know Kavin until he watched the film Dada. Later, he narrated his script for Star to the actor, who liked it. He then immediately said yes to the script and came on board for the project.

A vintage love track from Kavin’s upcoming film Star

Earlier, the makers unveiled a special single from Kavin’s upcoming film, that was titled Vintage Love. The video features Kavin performing the song while playing a guitar, with Preity Mukhundhan in the audience. The three-and-half-minute song is a melody with Kavin performing for his love interest. The video also shifts to a picturesque icy landscape where the duo can be seen dancing.

Star cast and crew

Touted to be a family drama, Star is set to narrate the rise and struggles of a movie star. Apart from Kavin and Preity, the film also stars Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, and Geetha Kailasam among others. Written and directed by Elan, Star has cinematography handled by Ezhil Arasu K, with editing handled by Pradeep E Ragav. The film which is currently in its final stage of production will soon get a release date.
