Star: Makers unveil a stylish promo video starring Kavin on Yuvan Shankar Raja's birthday

Director Elan, who made a notable debut with Pyaar Prema Kaadhal in 2018, announced a project with Harish Kalyan a few years ago. The project was titled Star and a couple of intriguing stills from the film were unveiled, leaving cinephiles curious.

However, the movie didn't take off owing to reasons best known to the makers. There was speculation about Kavin replacing Harish in the story, and the team made it official a few days ago. Both Kavin and Elan expressed excitement about the project's updated version on their social media pages.

Star's promo video released

Yuvan Shankar Raja was roped in as the musician for the film even when Harish was supposed to play the lead role. On the former's birthday today, the team unveiled a two-minute promo featuring Kavin. Staying true to the title, the film will have the actor playing a huge movie star.

The project revolves around the journey of the protagonist who sets out to become an actor. The hardships he faces, the challenges he goes through and the success he tastes are what the movie's story is all about. Fans of Kavin are thrilled with the promo, and they hope Star will take him to the next level.

Kavin's ticket to stardom

The actor's first outing this year, Dada, was a hit and was appreciated by critics and moviegoers alike. Star is touted to be his ticket to stardom and expectations are slightly high ever since the news of him replacing Harish was out.

BVSN Prasad and Sreenidhi Sagar are bankrolling the project under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Rise East Banners. Star marks Yuvan and Elan's second outing. The former was also the producer of the latter's debut Pyaar Prema Kaadhal. The young filmmaker's Grahanam still remains unreleased.
