There'll be only two releases for Sankranti in Telugu cinema - SS Rajamouli's RRR and Prabhas-starrer Radhe Shyam, ,
There has been a lot of apprehension among fans, distributors and producers in Telugu cinema about accomodating three big films like RRR, Bheemla Nayak and Radhe Shyam across theatres for the Sankranti season in 2022. However, the negotiations among producers, Telugu Film Producers Council have proved fruitful in convincing the producers of Bheemla Nayak to step back and defer their release to February 25, 2022.
As an appreciatory gesture, SS Rajamouli, the director of RRR conveyed his gratitude to the team of Bheemla Nayak and Sarkaru Vaari Paata for the postponement of their releases. For the uninitiated, Sarkaru Vaari Paata was initially scheduled to release for Sankranti 2022 but had pushed its release to April 1, 2022, to make way for RRR.
Rajamouli, who will be collaborating next with Mahesh Babu for another pan-Indian film after RRR, tweeted, "@urstrulyMahesh was the one who took the initiative in decluttering the Pongal releases... Even though #SarkaruVaariPaata was a perfect Pongal film, he moved it to summer and created a healthy atmosphere. Thanks to my Hero and also to the entire team at @MythriOfficial…"
For facilitating Bheemla Nayak's release on February 25, 2022 (on which Dil Raju's F3 was supposed to release) and postponing F3's release, he thanked producer Dil Raju. "Also, thanks to Dil Raju garu and the #F3Movie team for shifting the release of their film. Best wishes! @SVC_official." Wishing the best for the team of Bheemla Nayak, the filmmaker added, "The decision by Chinababu garu and Pawan Kalyan garu to defer the release date of #BheemlaNayak is well appreciated. Wishing the team all the very best…:)"
RRR, starring Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Shriya Saran and Ajay Devgn in key roles, is releasing across the globe on January 7, 2022. The film is produced by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment.
