In just about a week Srikanth the film starring Rajkummar Rao, will hit the big screen. The biographical film is about Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired Indian industrialist who founded Bollant Industries. Now, we need to know the film's OTT partner and where it will stream after its theatrical run. Yes, Srikanth will drop on Netflix about a couple of months later, after its big-screen release. Tushar Hiranandani directs the film, which features Rajkummar Rao in the lead role alongside Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar.

Synopsis of Srikanth's life

The biopic follows Srikanth Bolla, an Indian industrialist best known as the creator of Bollant Industries. Established in 2012, the company pioneers job options for unskilled and differently abled people, allowing them to manufacture environmentally responsible products. The film follows Srikanth's challenges after he was born vision-impaired in 1992 in Seetharamapuram village, Machilipatnam, in then-undivided Andhra Pradesh, India. The video depicts his battles since boyhood; one passage reads, "I cannot run away; I can only fight."

The film depicts Srikanth's extraordinary story of perseverance and achievement, including filing a court case to study science despite scoring 98% and being accepted as the first internationally visually impaired student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology after being denied admission to the Indian Institute of Technology.

Challenges and excitement for Rajkummar Rao

During an interview with PTI, Rajkummar expressed his desire to continue taking on more demanding roles in his career. In the interview, the actor discussed his approach to a role and his decision to participate in a film. He expressed that he doesn't have any specific plans. Rajkummar considers the role he is playing in the film or onscreen right now to be his dream role. At the moment, that plot and that character are his exclusive concerns. There must be a lot more in store for him in the future. The actor had no idea he could pull off Srikanth until around two or three years ago, but here it is. His appetite and fervour as an actor have increased today. He is in for a lot more difficult characters in the future.

Rajkummar loves challenges; something that terrifies him is even more thrilling. Srikanth was the one who treated him that way, and it's his first time playing a character who is visually impaired. The actor was worried that he wouldn't be up to the task. The most enjoyable part, though, is when one challenges themselves to do something new, as a great deal of investigation is required. He absolutely treasures such opportunities whenever they come his way. He elaborated by saying that he feels a "duty" to do honour to the role and that playing a real-life character is difficult because of the need to hit the correct notes.

May 10, 2024, will see the theatrical release of Srikanth.
