It was actress Sreelekha Mitra’s birthday and the actress was down with a fever. That’s not all\, during this period, the actress fell prey to a cyber scam and lost Rs one lakh. The incident took place on August 29, a day before her birthday. An unknown caller phoned her and the person asked the actress to download an app on her mobile. Then she did not understand what happened. She had a fever at that time and had to do a blood test. She downloaded the app in this situation and lost around Rs one lakh from her bank account.

The Once Upon A Time In Calcutta actress took to her social media and talked about how she was dubbed. She admitted that she trusted the wrong caller and lost her money. She alerted others about the scam.
In an interview with Anandabazar Online, Sreelekha said, “I wanted to think myself smart. But I am a fool. I am cautioning everyone so that they do not face such a situation. I do not want to disclose how much money I lost. But the amount is more than a lakh. I told the police and contacted the cyber cell.” She said the police took steps as soon as they were informed. Now, time will tell. Will she get back the money? She does not know yet.
Sreelekha recently finished shooting for the film Pariah, directed by Tathagata Mukherjee. She wants to direct a film and talks are going on. She is waiting for a good producer.
