Sreeleela, who had several releases last year - Bhagavanth Kesari, Skanda, Aadikeshava and Extra Ordinary Man - will kickstart 2024 with a biggie Guntur Kaaram on January 12. She shares screenspace alongside Mahesh Babu in the film directed by ace writer Trivikram. At the pre-release event in Guntur, the actress shared why it was special to be a part of team Guntur Kaaram.

“I feel I’m in the wrong place on the stage, I truly belong to the galleries and the scores of Mahesh Babu fans assembled here. After being introduced by Raghavendra Rao, the project almost feels like a relaunch. I thank Trivikram (garu) for entrusting me with Ammu and bearing my torture through the shoot (laughs),” the actress shared.

She said that Trivikram’s knowledge, wisdom and experience reflects in his dialogues, songs and it meant a lot to her that she could bring them alive. “I am intimidated by Mahesh Babu’s presence, the way he looks at me. When my family asked what it means to work with him, I told them that he was a golden statue that has come to life. He’s a superstar on and off screen.”

The actress called Meenakshii a positive influence on sets and addressed her as an elder sister. “Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa was so quick with the shoot. My first dialogue in the film was ‘kodi kura pulusettana?’ and I shared a warm camaraderie with Eeswari Rao. Amidst the ‘kaaram’, I hope to add some sweetness in the film,” she mentioned.

The crowds were further excited when they watched Sreeleela groove to the film’s song Kurchi Madathapetti on stage. Jayaram, Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Jagapathi Babu, Rahul Ravindran, Vennela Kishore are also part of the film produced by S Radha Krishna under Haarika and Hassine Creations. Netflix will premiere the film on OTT after its theatrical run.
