Recently, Emmy-winning actor Lee Jung-Jae graced The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon talk show in the US and shared his experience of working in the Korean series, as well as spilled some spoilers for Squid Game Season 2. While playing a quirky game of ‘Yes or No’ with Jimmy Fallon, the Korean actor revealed that he will not be competing with the other winners in the second season.
Later, the game became even more breathtaking when Jimmy asked whether Jung-jae would be seen as the new Front Man and the in-charge of the game in Season 2 or not, to which the actor interestingly replied both Yes and No! This answer made the whole room full of audience go gaga over him instantly. Lee Jung-jae also revealed that there will be new quirky games in Season 2.
During the interaction, the actor confirmed the third season of Squid Game will be released on Netflix in 2025.
Following creator Hwang Dong-hyuk’s tweet, the Squid Game Season 2 will likely delve into a conflict between the Front Man and Gi-hun. The teaser depicts a race that hints at more childhood games with deadly consequences awaiting contestants vying for the colossal cash prize.
The initial glimpses hinted that the narrative of the second season continues from the Season 1 finale. The footage commences with Gi-hun exiting the airport terminal, only to be interrupted by a ringing phone.
Apart from the return of Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon as Hwang Jun-ho, Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man, and Gong Yoo as the Salesman, the upcoming second installment will also feature Park Gyu-young, singer and former Iz*One girl group member Jo Yuri, Kane Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, rapper-actor Choi Seung-hyun, Queen of Tears drama-fame Park Sung-hoon, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an.
Squid Game Season 2 will be showcasing Gi-hun returning to the deadly game. This time, not for money, but to seek vengeance against the Front Man and uncover the sinister secrets behind the competition. Gi-hun will be seen channeling his survivor’s guilt into a relentless pursuit of justice.
Although Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed that Season 2 will have only seven episodes, the interesting part is that the show will be fast-paced and full of action. According to rumors, Season 2 is supposed to conclude with more epic moment glimpses of Season 3.
