It's true! On December 26 Squid Game will return with Season 2, immersing viewers once again in the twisted rivalry that drives the show. Everything is going swimmingly, according to director Hwang Dong-hyuk. He assured Netflix it's worth the wait in 2023, despite the weight he was carrying.
Season 1 of the Korean drama Squid Game introduced fans to the titular deadly game, which forces participants to stake their lives in a game of chance. Depending on their response, individuals may either receive a life-altering sum of money or face severe repercussions. Perched precariously, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), the protagonist of Squid Game will make some shocking decisions in the season 1 finale, and Season 2 will continue from where Season 1 left off.
Kim Ji-yeon, the show's executive producer, said in a December interview with Netflix that the cast and the crew are truly pouring their hearts and souls into filming the second season. He urged fans to keep track of their progress and cheer them on!
Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-jun are among the confirmed returning cast members of Squid Game. Season 2 of Squid Game will include an ensemble of colourful new characters, including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an.

Firstman Studio is in charge of producing the show, and Kim serves as both the company's executive producer and CEO.
During an interview with Tudum in 2022, Kim mentioned that there was a tremendous deal of pressure to improve Season 2 even further. He knows that many fans and audiences have thoroughly enjoyed the series. However, their main focus is on finding ways to bring even more joy to audiences around the world.
Chae Kyoung-sun is Squid Game's production designer. To this day, she can't believe she's a Primetime Emmy winner. She expressed her excitement about returning to Squid Game for Season 2 in an interview with Netflix.
South Korea serves as the primary setting for the suspenseful series.
