In their latest promotional content, they’ve shared a new teaser that offers a closer look at the upcoming plot. This time, the focus is not on Gi-hun or the Front Man but on the Salesman. The teaser is packed with Squid Game Easter eggs. We see the Salesman, played by Gong Yoo, waking up in his apartment, showering, getting ready for work, and leaving for the subway. There, in a scene reminiscent of Season 1, he meets a new individual and asks if they want to play a game. The teaser then moves on to him showing his iconic blue and red Ddakji tiles.
In case you don't remember, Season 1 of Squid Game ended with Gi-hun watching the Salesman from afar as he recruited more contestants into the deadly game. That was the last time we saw the Salesman in Season 1, confirming that he plays a crucial role in Season 2. Set three years after the events of Season 1, Squid Game Season 2 throws Gi-hun back into the deadly game, as teased in the new trailer. “Three years after winning Squid Game Player 456 gave up going to the States and returns with a new resolution,” reads the official Season 2 synopsis. “Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death challenge with new participants competing for the 45.6 billion won prize.”
