Renowned editor Garry BH makes his directorial debut with the pan-Indian project
Nikhil Siddhartha, who debuted with Sekhar Kammula’s Happy Days, faced a flurry of flops later but took charge of his career at the right time. Since the success of Swamy Ra Ra, he’s been extremely careful with his script choices and is consciously widening his audience base with every project. The actor, after scoring a multilingual hit with Karthikeya 2 and winning praise for 18 Pages, is gearing up for his next release now.
The Keshava actor’s upcoming project is also a pan-Indian film, a spy-thriller titled Spy, that marks the directorial debut of renowned editor Garry BH. The makers claim Spy is the hidden story of the country and Nikhil will play a character that’ll try to unlock India’s best kept secret. A brief video was unveiled by the team of Spy, throwing light into the film’s premise.
While talking about India’s best-kept secret, they reveal the story is about Subhash Chandrabose, the man behind the popular slogan- Tum Mujhe Khoon Do, Main Tumhe Azadi Doonga. However, the freedom fighter’s death remains a mystery and the film will revolve around the hidden story behind it. It’s not a regular spy thriller and will have a mix of patriotism, history and emotions.
K Rajashekhar Reddy, who has written the story, is also bankrolling the film under Ed Entrainments in collaboration with Charantej Uppalapati (CEO). The glimpse also confirms that Spy will release in theatres across five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada - on June 29. Meanwhile, the teaser will be launched on May 12.
Iswarya Menon plays the leading lady in the Nikhil starrer that also features Sanya Thakur in a powerful role. Aryan Rajesh returns to don the greasepaint in feature films with the thriller that also stars Abhinav Gomatam, Makrand Deshpande, Jisshu Sen Gupta, Nitin Mehta, Ravi Varma, Krishna Teja, Prisha Singh and Sonia Naresh.
