Nikhil Siddhartha emerged as a 'pan-Indian' player following the thumping success of Karthikeya 2, and the actor is evidently looking to capitalize on the new-found fame. His upcoming film SPY, which is directed by Garry BH, is set to release on June 29 and the current buzz suggests that Nikhil is quite keen on giving the film a national platform and even wishes to promote the film accordingly.

In this vein, one hears of Nikhil wanting to postpone the release of the film so as to allow himself more time and breathing space to promote the film across the country. The film, which is centred on the mystery surrounding the death of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, boasts a certain universal appeal that the makers could utilize to publicize the film beyond the Telugu states and the leading man, apparently, wants more time in hand for this. However, the film's producer K. Rajashekhar Reddy is reportedly of a different opinion.

The same reports reveal that the producer is mighty keen on leveraging the extended three-day Bakrid weekend and the distributors, too, are said to be on the same page. But, should the film's release be postponed, the move carries the risk of the distributors not paying the pre-agreed amount - alongside, the VFX work, too, remains pending which further compels Nikhil to push the release by a week or two. Caught in this dilemma, it now comes to light that there's a possible rift/disagreement between Nikhil Siddhartha and producer K. Rajashekhar Reddy.

The rumours of this disagreement were further fuelled when Nikhil refrained from sharing (on his social media handles) the first single of SPY, which was released on June 11. Many believe that this is a sign of things not being completely hunky-dory in the camp, raising a few alarms about the nature of the pre-release promotions.

SPY also stars Iswarya Menon, Sanya Thakur, Abhinav Gomatam, Makarand Deshpande and others with Sricharan Pakala and Vishal Chandrashekar scoring the music.
