Spy: Amidst postponement rumours, makers assure Nikhil Siddhartha’s film will release as per schedule

Nikhil Siddhartha, who has announced multiple pan-Indian projects post the release of Karthikeya 2, will be next seen in a spy thriller titled Spy. Iswarya Menon plays the female lead in the film that marks the directorial debut of well-known editor Garry BH. K Rajashekhar Reddy, the producer of the film (under ED Entertainment), has also written the story.

Spy was always slated for a release on June 29 in theatres but the absence of any promotional activity over the recent weeks had film buffs wondering if the film was hitting screens as per schedule. After some confusion over the same, the production house has officially re-confirmed the film’s release date again. The cast, crew will be touring across the country for the publicity shortly.

The film caught the eyeballs of many with its spellbinding teaser where Nikhil chases the truth behind the mysterious death of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose. The script presents itself well for a pan-Indian film and the theme is quite relevant for audiences across the country. Spy will be out in five languages on June 29 - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

The first single from Spy - Jhoom Jhoom Re - a feel-good number sung by Anurag Kulkarni, Ramya Behera, with lyrics by Kittu Vissapragada, launched on June 11, released to encouraging responses and has neared the 6 million mark on Youtube already. Vishal Chandrasekhar, who wowed music enthusiasts with Sita Ramam, is the composer.

Aryan Rajesh, Sanya Thakur , Abhinav Gomatam, Makrand Deshpande, Jisshu Sen Gupta, Nitin Mehta, Ravi Varma, Krishna Teja, Prisha Singh and Sonia Naresh play other important roles in the film. Vamsi Patchipulusu, Mark David have cranked the camera for the film whose art director and production designer are Arjun Surisetty and Ravi Anthony.
