The animated series of Spider-Man is back with a bang! Produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment, and distributed by Sony Pictures, the upcoming film is the sequel to the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).

When will the film release in India?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will release on June 1 (upcoming Thursday) in India, a day prior to the release date in the US. Speaking about this exciting development, Shony Panjikaran - General Manager and Head of Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) India said last week, “The interest and excitement Indian fans have shown towards Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is overwhelming. To fulfill this unprecedented demand in our market, we have decided to release the film a day prior.”

The film will be released theatrically in India in 10 Indian languages including Hindi and Punjabi.

What is special about this film, especially for Indians?
Interestingly, the makers of the animated superhero film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have announced that the voice of Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar will be lent by famous cricketer Shubman Gill for the Hindi and Punjabi versions of the film.
If you are unaware, Gill is nowadays playing for the Gujarat Titans – a team which will be playing the IPL Finale match today against MS Dhoni’s team Chennai Super Kings.

The film series, in toto, talks about the life of a man named Miles, who as Spider-man, travels across the universes to safeguard spider-people from lethal opponents. The Indian version of Spider-man is Pavitr Prabhakar. It will be interesting to hear how Gill delivers dialogue for the film.
