The movie almost touched Rs. 20 crore mark
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been working well at the Box Office since its release. The movie has already managed to beat Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’s Box Office in the first weekend itself. It has crossed the mark the 2018 film took a lifetime to.
The lifetime collection of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was as low as Rs. 6.50 crores. The current release almost grossed that much on its opening day. The gross first day collections for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are Rs. 5.04 crores. The net collections in India are Rs. 4.20 crores. The opening day for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, on the other hand, was Rs. 65 lakhs.
The 2018 film had minted Rs. 3.45 crores on its opening weekend. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse earned Rs. 18.84 crores in four days of its release. The gross collections of the film are Rs. 22.87 crores.
The current release saw more than 50 percent growth over the weekend. It earned Rs. 5.19 crores net and Rs. 6.28 crores gross on its first Saturday and Rs. 6.11 crores net and Rs. 7.50 crores gross on its first Sunday. The growth for each day was nearly Rs. 1 crore.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse released on a Thursday. The film saw a decent Box Office opening but the collections fell on Friday (again by Rs. 1 crore). The movie earned Rs. 3.34 crores net and Rs. 4.05 crores gross on day two i.e. its first Friday.
The drop in collections could be a concern since usually Fridays are when the footfalls for movies start. However, in this case, they retracted. Only if the movie can hold on Monday, can it be considered a hit in India.
