Spandana Vijay no more: Ragini Dwivedi, Parul Yadav and others mourn loss of Vijay Raghavendra's wife

Spandana was on holiday in Bangkok with extended family when she succumbed to a cardiac arrest while asleep. Her mortal remains are expected to reach Bengaluru on August 8

Spandana was on holiday with her cousins when tragedy struck

Kannada cinema’s Chinnari Mutha Vijay Raghavendra was left heart-broken today, when his life partner of 16 years, Spandana, passed away tragically . Spandana was in Bangkok on holiday, with extended family, when she suffered a cardiac arrest and succumbed to it. Vijay, who had shooting commitments and was to join her on the trip at a later stage, has left for Bangkok and is expected to return with her mortal remains tomorrow, August 8.

Vijay’s brother and actor Sriimurali addressed the media earlier today and explained that Spandana had passed away in her sleep and that more details would be shared once they bring her back to Bengaluru. Spandana was only 41 at the time of her passing, which comes less than two years after Vijay’s cousin, Puneeth Rajkumar succumbed to cardiac arrest aged only 47.

Ever since news of Spandana’s tragic passing came to light, condolences have been pouring in for the family on social media.

Taking to social media, actress Ragini Dwivedi wrote that she is saddened and heartbroken at the news of Spandana's passing "May the family have all the strength to deal with such a tragic situation and loss …. #spandana #vijayraghavendra #omshanti," she added. Pradeep Bogadi wished that Vijay and his family have the strength to bear this pain. Director Shashank wrote, Spandana is no more. This is shocking news indeed. May Vijaya Raghavendra and his family find strength to bear this pain."

Funeral arrangements are expected to made after the mortal remains are brought back to Bengaluru. As per procedure, her post-mortem is being conducted in Bangkok.
