Vishwaroopa Darisanam will be available on Dolby Atmos on Apple Music and Hungama Music, while the regular stereo version will be available on music streaming services such as Spotify, Wynk, and YouTube
The legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam’s 30-minute last album will be released on June 1. Titled Vishwaroopa Darisanam, it has music by KS Raghunathan and lyrics by Gurunatha Sitthar. Produced by Symphony Recording Company, along with Dolby Atmos, the album is a musical interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita. Speaking on how this project materialised, Rajesh Dhupad, the CEO of Symphony Recording Company, said the idea germinated five years ago. “I wanted to make an album about Vishwaroopa Darisanam. It wasn't an easy song to write. Naturally, it was difficult for me to find a lyricist. Then, Gurunatha Sitthar was happy to oblige.”
After the song was written, Rajesh said he started searching for a profound voice. “It then occurred to me that SPB sir would be perfect. We recomposed the song to fit sir's style,” he added. Though Rajesh was visibly excited about the release of the track, he wished that SP Balasubrahmanyam were alive. “SPB sir never got to listen to his final album. I miss him, but SP Charan, his son, is very much aware of this project, and he is looking forward to listening to the track.”
Sameer Seth, the Director of Marketing, India of Dolby Laboratories, explained how the experience of listening to such a tricky composition in Dolby stands apart from regular stereo. “The music isn't restricted just to the left and the right channels. Instead, it gives the listener a 360-degree experience.”
Notably, Vishwaroopa Darisanam is also the first non-film music album to be released on Dolby Atmos.
"It's totally a new way to listen to music. It delivers the artist's vision in the best possible way and brings the artist closer to the fan," said Sameer.
Vishwaroopa Darisanam will be available on Dolby Atmos on Apple Music and Hungama Music, while the regular stereo version will be available on music streaming services such as Spotify, Wynk, and YouTube.
The legendary singer SPB passed away on 25 September 2020, at the age of 74, due to Covid-related complications. His final film song was Annaatthe Annaatthe from the Rajinikanth-starrer, directed by Siva. Written by Viveka, it was Superstar's introduction song, and has music by D Imman.
