Soori and Anna Ben-starrer Kottukkaali premieres at the Berlin International Film Festival

Kottukkaali marks PS Vinothraj’s sophomore directorial following the critical success of his debut feature, Koozhangal aka Pebbles

We had earlier reported that the upcoming Tamil film Kottukkaali, also known as The Adamant Girl, will have its world premiere at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. As planned, the film had a world premiere on the international stage.

Actor Soori, took his X (formerly Twitter) handle, to pen a note on his film's premiere. Kottukkaali also stars Anna Ben in her Tamil debut and is backed by Sivakarthikeyan’s banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions.

Actor Soori shared a few photographs along with his team from the festival and wrote, “Kottukkaali on the world stage! It is a great joy that the film was watched and celebrated by the international audience at the Berlin Film Festival. I thank brother Sivakarthikeyan and brother Vinothraj for making a film that integrates our lifestyle and to present it on the world stage.”

About Kottukkaali

Kottukkaali revolves around two Indian families who are preparing for the wedding of their daughter, Meena, and son, Pandi. However, complications arise as Meena is in love with someone from a lower caste. The film unfolds after the wedding ceremonies are completed, and Meena's seemingly cold demeanour leads her family to believe she is possessed.

The film marks Vinothraj’s sophomore directorial following the critical success of his debut feature, Koozhangal aka Pebbles, which became India's official entry to the 94th Oscars. Anna Ben marks her Tamil debut with the film. B Sakthivel is the cinematographer, while Ganesh Siva has handled the editing work. The executive producer is Banu Priya. The film’s theatrical release date has not yet been disclosed by its makers.
