We had earlier reported that a sequel for the 2013 black comedy film Soodhu Kavvum is in the making. Titled Soodhu Kavvum II: Naadum Naatu Makkalum, the makers recently announced that the sequel of the film is all set to release in theatres in December. A date is yet to be mentioned.

Soodhu Kavvum II: Naadum Naatu Makkalum is the upcoming sequel of Soodhu Kavvum. The second instalment of the famous film, features actors Shiva in the lead role, along with Karunakaran, Harisha, Radha Ravi, Karunakaran, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak and Yog Japee, among others.
The shooting for Soodhu Kavvum II: Naadum Naatu Makkalum has been completed, and the film is all set to release in December, the makers mentioned recently. The team will announce the date very soon. While the first part was directed by filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy in his debut, the second part was written and directed by SJ Arjun. He has penned the film along with T Yogaraja.
CV Kumar who backed the 2013 film will return as the producer for the sequel as well, under the banner Thirukumaran Entertainment. With the looks of the film, it is safe to assume that the sequel will follow a new story altogether. The technical crew consists of music by Edwin Louis Viswanath. It will be shot by Karthik K Thillai and Ignatious Aswin is the editor.
Soodhu Kavvum is available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. The film starred Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Ashok Selvan, Ramesh Thilak, Karunakaran and Sanchita Shetty in the lead roles. However, the cast will not be returning for the sequel.
The film revolves around a group of kidnappers who abduct a politician's son who has been plotting his own kidnap to get money from his father. The film won critical applause and was remade in Telugu as Gaddam Gang and in Urdu as Chupan Chupai.
