The Bollywood singer said that he is happy to not run behind producers for work, and he is not an insecure person
Sonu Nigam has been one of the top singers of the country for a long time. But recently, the singer has taken a step back from the industry. He publicly reasoned that he no longer goes eye-to-eye with the methods of music directors today.
In a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, he opened up about the same, and also about the latest project Laal Singh Chaddha, in which he took part.
Nigam finds it hard to participate in a process where many singers record the same song, after which the producers, music directors and stars decide the ‘best’ to pick. He called the process ‘swayamvar’. He also said that the only reason he sang for Laal Singh Chaddha was because of Aamir Khan, which he personally asked the iconic singer to record. He was also assured by music director Pritam that he would be the only one recording the song. The team had also told Sonu that they held him in the highest regard, according to the singer.
The musician further said that he is happy to not run behind producers for work, and he is not an insecure person. He believes his fans would be proud of him for not begging for work. ‘How will my fans feel if I started begging for work in secret while pretending to be a king in front of everyone..’, he asked.
