Sonic the Hedgehog 2 final trailer shows Knuckles landing a big punch on Sonic

The final trailer for the sequel has a lot of action, and reveals the powers of the Chaos Emerald

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a movie video game fans are eagerly waiting for. The makers of the animated feature have now released the final trailer of the movie, and it has a lot of action.

The trailer starts off with Sonic crashing a wedding following which the powers of the Chaos Emerald is revealed, with Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles looking over it. The trailer, which is packed with a lot of action, also gives the fans a big showdown between Sonic and Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba.

The sequel to 2020's Sonic the Hedgehog also sees Sonic teaming up with his new pal Tails played by Colleen O'Shaughnessey, as the two try to stop the powerful emerald from being used for destruction at the hands of Dr. Robotnik.

Ben Schwartz returns as Sonic, while James Marsden as Tom, Tika Sumpter as Maddie, Adam Pally as Wade, Natasha Rothwell as Rachel and Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone are other actors in the sequel.

The sequel seems to be keeping the elements that made the first movie a hit with the fans. The first trailer confirmed the movie’s usage of elements from the game such as Tails’ iconic Tornado biplane. The latest trailer confirms that the movie’s action is right out of the video game.

Written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller and John Whittington, the movie is helmed by Jeff Fowler, who also directed the first movie.

Distributed by Viacom18 Studios in India, the movie is set to hit theatres across the country on April 22, 2022.
