Tushar Hiranandani will co-direct the project with Hansal Mehta.
The sequel of Pratik Gandhi’s Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story was announced a day back. Now, the makers have confirmed the cast and crew of the upcoming Sony LIV show, Scam 2003. Hansal Mehta, who had helmed Scam 1992, returns for this series.
Applause Entertainment, who is producing this show, shared a video revealing the two things – the whole title of the show as well as the lead actor and director involved. Scam 2003 is now titled Scam 2003: The Telgi Story.
Veteran actor Gagandev Riar, who has been a part of Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sonchiriya, plays the role of Abdul Karim Telgi in the story. The actor played the role of Khalifa in Sonchiriya. He was last seen in Tabu-Ishaan Khatter’s limited series, A Suitable Boy.

Hansal Mehta who was also acclaimed for Scam 1992, returns for Scam 2003. However, Tushar Hiranandani directs the new series with him this time.
Abdul, who saw poverty in his childhood, wanted to find easy ways to make money. Thus, even though he did hard labour like selling fruits and vegetables, Telgi eventually went into forging documents like passports and then started a full-fledged business with fake stamps. His business grew overnight when he started laundering money too. Scam 2003 is expected to show those aspects of his life.
Sources placed close to the project had revealed that the makers have a powerful script at hand which is likely to surpass Scam 1992’s success too. However, more details on this project will be revealed once it is out.
The makers are yet to finalize on a release date for Scam 2003. However, one thing is for sure. This show will stream on Sony LIV, just like the OTT platform’s most popular show, Scam 1992.
