For her digital debut, Sonakshi Sinha is donning the khaki as a tough-as-nails police officer. Among the slew of announcements made at its special ‘See Where It Takes You’ event held today in Mumbai, Amazon Prime Video announced the new title of Sinha’s debut web series. The series is titled Dahaad.
The streaming giant also shared the news on its official social media handles, sharing a photograph of Sinha’s first look from the series, which was unveiled last year. In the post, Amazon Prime Video teased that the ‘gripping’ series will revolve around the story of serial killings. The series had tentatively been titled Fallen.
A teaser for the series was also unveiled at the event, hosted by Karan Johar. The teaser showed Sinha at her thrilling best, her character puzzling over a murky case at hand. Sinha arrived at the event in style, atop a motorbike.
In addition to Sinha, the upcoming series also stars Vijay Verma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah in pivotal roles. Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar have created the series, which is bankrolled under the banners of Excel Media and Tiger Baby. Executive producers on Dahaad include Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Kagti and Farhan Akhtar. The series is helmed by Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi and written by Kagti along with Ritesh Shah, Mansi Jain, Sunayana Kumari, Karan Shah and Chaitanya Chopra.
Other titles announced at the event include Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi, Vidya Balan starrer Neeyat, Arya’s The Village and Naga Chaitanya's Dhootha.
New seasons of Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, Panchayat, Four More Shots Please and Made In Heaven too were announced. The teasers and first glimpses of Modern Love Mumbai, Modern Love Chennai and Modern Love Hyderabad were also released.
