Smile Man teaser out: The teaser for Smile Man, Sarathkumar's 150th film, reveals his character battling Alzheimer's. Directed by Syam-Praveen, the teaser hints at a copycat killer plot.
The teaser of Smile Man, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Sarathkumar in the lead role, was released by the makers on social media on Tuesday, November 19. The film marks the 150th outing of the actor and is helmed by Syam-Praveen.
The teaser begins with a revelation of Sarathkumar's character, who is suffering from Alzheimer's. Though his health conditions are good, the disease is taking control of him. He is given one year, within which all his memories will fade. On the other hand, he is shown solving a case and we get to know there is a copycat killer on the loose. The teaser does not reveal much about the killer, as we see gripping shots from the film.
Smile Man is directed by Syam-Praveen and backed by Salildas, Aneesh Haridasan, and Anandan T. Besides Sarathkumar, the film also stars Sri Kumar, Sijaarose, Ineya, George Maryan, Rajkumar, Kumar Natarajan, Baby Azhiya, and others. The technical crew consists of music scored by Gavaskar Avinash with the story penned by Kamala Alchemis. Vikram Mohan has shot the film and San Lokesh has handled the edits. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

So far, Sarathkumar starred in two films this year, Hit List and Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan. The first film, which was released earlier this year, is a crime thriller and features the actor as a cop. It is available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. Hit List revolves around a mysterious stranger who holds a non-violence-loving man’s family as hostages, and orders the man to kill a few people.

On the other hand, Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan is streaming on Prime Video. The film stars Vijay Antony in the lead role and is about a man who is left off at the Andaman Islands, to start off his life afresh from scratch after surviving a tragedy.
