The film, to release on July 29, is written and directed by AR Sreedhar
Actor Brahmaji’s son Sanjay Rrao, who made a mark in the deceptively entertaining O Pitta Katha earlier, will be seen in another light-hearted film this weekend. His next release is Slum Dog Husband, a film written and directed by AR Sreedhar. The film is bankrolled by Appi Reddy, Venkat Annapareddy under Mic Movies and is hitting screens on July 29, a day after Pawan Kalyan’s Bro.
Despite the risk of being swept by the ‘Bro’ wave, the makers have still taken a decision to release the film in the same weekend as the fantasy comedy. Pranavi Manukonda plays the female lead in the entertainer also starring Brahmaji, Saptagiri, Raghu Karumanchi and Yadamma Raju. Ahead of its Saturday release, the team has wrapped up the censor screening.
Confirming the news, the production house tweeted, “Get ready for a Satirical comedy like no other! Join us for the pre-release event of #SlumDogHusband and witness the chaos unfold!” The film was certified U/A and has a crisp runtime of 122 minutes. A poster of the hero caught between his lady love and a dog in the middle of a slum was also unveiled today.
The story revolves around a youngster, who’s forced to marry a dog going by an astrologer’s suggestion. While he is in love with a girl, he needs to be officially separated from the dog to go ahead with the alliance. The humour of the film comes through its courtroom sequences, where a lawyer bats for a dog’s rights and the protagonist faces several struggles to get hitched with his lady love.
Nihar Devella, M K Chaitanya Penmetsa, Chinta Merwan, Prakash Jirra, Ravali Ganesh, Soham Reddy Mannem have co-produced the film which has music by Bheems Cecrioleo. Srinivas J Reddy cranked the camera for the film and A Vaishnav Vasu is the editor. Suresh Redrouthu is the art director. Saregama has acquired the audio rights.
