Slow Horses: First look images, release date of Gary Oldman’s Apple TV+ series unveiled

Apple TV+ has unveiled the release date and first look images from Gary Oldman-led espionage thriller series, Slow Horses.

The first look images feature Oldman along with the series’ star studded cast, including Olivia Cooke,Jonathan Pryce,Kristin Scott Thomas and Jack Lowden, among others. Oldman, who essays the role of a British intelligence agent, is seen sporting long hair and glasses.

The series revolves around the story of a British intelligence agent, Jackson Lamb (Oldman), who is sent to work in Slough House after he botches a mission. Slough House is an administrative department where field agents who commit mistakes on important missions are sent to where they are required to do mundane off-field work as a sort of punishment. The agents who are dismissed to Slough House are termed ‘slow horses’.

Their mundane lives are interrupted when they find themselves entangled in a dangerous ruse. The upcoming series is based on the 2016 novel of the same name written by Mick Herron.

The series also features Freddie Fox, Rosalind Eleazar and Chris Chung in pivotal roles. Slow Horses is executive produced by Graham Yost and Will Smith. See-Saw Films is producing the series for Apple.

The first two episodes of the six-part series will premiere on Apple TV+ on April 1, followed by new episodes weekly every Friday.

Meanwhile Academy Award winner Oldman was last seen in the films The Woman in the Window (2021) and made an appearance in Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard. He had also been a part of the Harry Potter reunion special, Return to Hogwarts.
