The action-drama Sky Force starring Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, had an incredible 75% increase in Saturday's box office receipts. The film has made more than ₹33 crore nett in India since it was released on Friday, just in time for the Republic Day weekend, according to Sacnilk.com. Massive markdowns on online ticket purchases were a key component in the healthy collections. Despite the fact that this tactic helped Sky Force draw in huge crowds, experts warn that it may not work in the long run.

Sky Force Saturday collections

On Saturday, the film grossed ₹21–22 crore nett, which is a substantial increase of over 70% from the first day’s ₹12.25 crore nett. The overall collection after two days is now over ₹33 crore nett, even though the discounted ticket rates were partially extended on the second day.

The evening shows on Sky Force attracted the most viewers, contributing to the overall 35.76% occupancy in Hindi on Saturday.

Akshay Kumar's biggest opening day in recent times

The opening day performance of Sky Force was the best in recent memory, setting a new standard for Akshay Kumar's recent films. Khel Khel Mein (₹5.05 crore) and Sarfira (₹2.5 crore), the actor's 2024 films, were both outpaced by this.

The box office numbers on the second day show that the film was successful in capturing people's interest. Republic Day comes on Sunday; thus, Sky Force should continue to do well. Its opening weekend earnings might reach about ₹60 crore nett, which is quite a feat.

Monday to be the true test of longevity

Sky Force has started well with positive reviews, but Monday will be the film's real test. To be successful at the box office in the long run, it needs strong collections during the week.

Sky Force is based on the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air conflict, when India launched its first and most devastating airstrike against Pakistan's Sargodha airbase. The film has crucial characters played by Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur, and it was directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, under Maddock Films, and Jyoti Deshpande, under Jio Studios, produced it. January 24 was the release date of the film.
