Sky Force box office advance booking
Sky Force box office advance booking: After a lot of releases in January, the second last Friday has been marked for Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force. The movie that will mark the debut of Veer Pahariya also stars Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur alongside Kumar. As the audience is functioning in recent times, estimates have said the movie might have a decent opening, but the advance bookings now tell a very different story. As per the latest numbers, the movie will have to pace up to have a good opening day and weekend with its added privilege of a public holiday.
As per Koimoi, as of 10 am today, Sky Force has only sold tickets worth ₹17.35 lakh gross in India. This number does not include blocked seats, meaning the movie has already made ₹75 lakh for the opening day. But considering the scale of the movie and the star power, this is not a very positive route to be on. Compared to Akshay Kumar’s last release, Sarfira Sky Force has only sold 23.13% of its pre-sales, which does not promise a good opening.
Across the country, the film has sold over 9,400 tickets for day one, with over 4,100 tickets sold at national cinema chains (PVR INOX and Cinepolis). Talking about the regions, Delhi is leading the advance booking with tickets sold worth ₹8.57 lakh gross. Maharashtra has sold tickets worth ₹5.17 lakh gross. Sky Force currently has only 2,400 shows allotted. Only strong word of mouth and reviews will lead to an increase in screen count. Without this, there is little hope for the film.
The fans of the stars have been hooked to every update about Sky Force which is set to hit the big screen on January 24. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. Marking Veer’s debut, it has created a decent buzz. As per Pinkvilla, the movie might see an opening day collection of ₹9 crore if it stays on track. It is said that if the film gets a good opening and sustains positive momentum, it can achieve an opening weekend collection of around ₹30 crore.
With its release coinciding with the Republic Day holiday, the film has an opportunity to flourish if word of mouth is strong. If this happens, Sky Force will completely overshadow Emergency and Azaad. Considering Emergency opened to ₹8.74 crore over its weekend and Azaad hasn’t even touched the ₹5 crore mark, it is evident that if Sky Force works, these two will fade from the big screen.
As per Pinkvilla, Sky Force has passed through the Central Board Of Film Certification check and has received a UA 13+ rating, which will benefit the movie. Meanwhile, the movie has been approved with a runtime of 125 minutes, making it 2 hours and 5 minutes long. This could be the shortest Akshay Kumar movie in years. There is no confirmation on this from the makers yet.
Sky Force is set to release on January 24, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
