Akshay Kumar reveals reason behind doing biopics

Sky Force, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, is based on a true event. It is about the attack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965, marking India's deadliest-ever air strike. Recently, while speaking to CNN-News18 Showsha, he admitted that he intentionally takes up movies that are not a part of any textbooks. He said, "There are so many things which are not there in the books. I intentionally play roles which are not a part of our books. I want to do this. They are all unknown heroes. People do not know anything about them because nobody goes deep. I go for these kinds of roles."

He further argued that history books need to be corrected and a lot about our heroes should be mentioned. Akshay added, "History books need to be corrected. A lot of things there need to be corrected. We read about Akbar or Aurangzeb but do not read about our own heroes. They need to be mentioned. There are so many stories from the army. So many people have been honoured with the Param Veer Chakra. I think history needs to be corrected and these kinds of leaders should be brought in and told to our generation."

When will Sky Force hit theatres?

The much-awaited film is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 24, 2025. Going by the current box office trend it might open to a good number on day one. The positive word of mouth and Republic Day weekend will surely help the film reach its audience.
