After the roaring success of Akhanda, Telugu director Boyapati Sreenu teamed up with star hero Ram Pothineni for yet another action drama titled Skanda. The film, which was made on a massive budget of Rs 70 crore, is currently streaming on OTT.
OTTplay was the first to reveal that the OTT rights of Skanda were bagged by Disney+ Hotstar for a massive Rs 45 crore and the film would start streaming from November 2. Skanda is now streaming on Hotstar and has got off to a solid start as the film is being discussed all over social media.

Skanda’s OTT release also draws mixed response
The movie was released in theatres on September 28, 2023, but opened to mixed reviews and ended as an average fare in its thea trical run. Post its OTT release, a section of the audience has been trolling the film for its over-the-top action sequences and the others, who skipped the film in theatres, have posted that they didn’t feel Skanda was a bad film.
Ram worked hard for his character in Skanda by gaining 11 kg to look the part. His fights and dances in this commercial drama were loved by the audience. Yet another attraction of Skanda was Ram pairing up with Sreeleela for the first time. The lead pair shared good chemistry and were loved by the masses in all the songs. Thaman had composed the music for this film.
Skanda director to team up with Suriya next
Boyapati Sreenu is known for his loud action movies, but with Skanda, a section of the critics and general audience felt that he should change his style and try something new. There is news that Boyapati Sreenu has locked Tamil star Suriya as the lead of his next film. This is an insane combination and we need to see what kind of a film the duo ends up making.
