Ameesha Patel may skip Gadar 2 trailer launch

The highly anticipated trailer launch of the release of the Gadar 2 has been set for July 26th. The Anil Sharma directorial stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in pivotal roles and is scheduled to hit theatres next month. Reports have now emerged that actress Ameesha Patel will skip the trailer launch event. The sequel to the 2001 film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, will feature Deol reprising his role as Tara Singh, who is on a mission to bring back his son from Pakistan. Gadar 2 is set to release in theatres on August 11 2023.

Yami Gautam to collaborate with husband Aditya Dhar for a new project

Actress Yami Gautam is set to collaborate with her husband, Aditya Dhar, for a new film. Gautam previously starred in Uri: The Surgical Strike and Dhoom Dhaam, both directed by Dhar. According to reports, the film will be a political thriller based on true events and it will be produced by Dhar's B62 Studios, along with Aditya Suhas Jambhale. The untitled film is expected to commence production in September.

'The Exorcist: Deceiver'  release date confirmed

Renowned horror filmmaker David Gordon Green who recently revived the iconic Halloween franchise with a new trilogy of slasher films is set to release his next horror feature, The Exorcist: Believer. The film will be a direct sequel to the legendary 1973 film The Exorcist and stars Leslie Odom Jr. Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, and Norbert Leo Butz among others in prominent roles. Fans of the horror genre will be thrilled to learn that a sequel to The Exorcist: Believer has already been greenlit. Titled, The Exorcist: Deceiver, the film will be part of a new trilogy of films. The Exorcist: Believer is set to release on 13th October 2023, while The Exorcist: Deceiver is scheduled to release on 18th April 2025.

Documentary on Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga in development

A documentary is in the works focusing on Lady Gaga and the legendary musician Tony Bennett, who passed away recently. The documentary is titled The Lady and The Legend and it will explore the decade-long friendship between Gaga and Bennett. It will also offer a behind-the-scenes look into their first duet in 2011 titled "Lady is a Tramp”, and their final duet, when Gaga performed with an Alzheimer's battling Bennett for his 95th birthday. The Lady and The Legend is expected to release in September this year.

‘Poor Things’ release date postponed

The release date of filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos', highly-anticipated sci-fi fantasy, Poor Things, has been postponed. The decision comes in the wake of the ongoing actors' and writers' strikes in Hollywood. The film features a star-studded ensemble of Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, and Willem Dafoe in lead roles. It revolves around a young woman who is brought back to life by a scientist, and she eventually runs off with a lawyer to explore the world. Poor Things will premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September and will release in theatres on December 8 2023.

First look image of Ava DuVernay's ‘Origin’ starring Jon Bernthal released

Emmy-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay, who is best known for helming the acclaimed limited series When They See Us, is the director of the upcoming film Origin. The Punisher star Jon Bernthal essays the lead role in the film, and it is based on the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson. The first look images of the drama film were released recently, and the film’s plot explores the caste system within the United States. Bernthal will be joined by a star-studded ensemble featuring Niecy Nash-Betts, Nick Offerman, Vera Farmiga, and Connie Nielsen. Origin will premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in September, but its release date is kept under wraps.
