Prime Video announces cast for its first Hindi horror series

Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video has announced the cast for its first Hindi horror series, Adhura. Rasika Dugal, Ishwak Singh, Poojan Chhabra, and Shrenik Arora will essay lead roles in the series, while Rahul Dev, Zoa Morani, Rijul Ray, and Sahil Salathia among otters will essay supporting roles in the Ananya Banerjee and Gauravv K. Chawla directorial. The seven-part series will explore the inner demons and underlying fears of its characters. The series will premiere on Prime Video on July 7.

Animated adaptation of the hit mobile multiplayer game ‘Among Us’ in development

The mobile multiplayer game Among Us, which gained immense popularity during the pandemic is set to be adapted into an animated TV show. The American network CBS will collaborate with game studio Innersloth for the development of the new series. The story will be set in a sci-fi setting where an alien shapeshifter replaces the members of the crew one by one. Further details regarding the series have been kept under wraps.

'Silo' first episode is free to stream ahead of the season one finale

Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed new dystopian sci-fi series Silo is set to premiere its season one finale this Friday. The studio has already renewed the series based on Hugh Howey's novels for a second season. Apple has now announced that the first episode of the series will be available to stream for free through Apple’s social media handles. The series stars Dune and Mission: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson in the lead.

Ridley Scott’s ‘Nepolean’ runtime announced

The highly anticipated Ridley Scott period drama Napoleon has announced its runtime. The film stars Academy Award-winner Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role of the former French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The film is set to release theatrically on November 22 this year and will clock at a whopping 157 minutes and 43 seconds. The film will focus on Napoleon's rise to power and his turbulent relationship with Empress Joséphine, played by Vanessa Kirby.

Ken to receive solo power ballad in ‘Barbie’

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is building a head of steam before its premiere on July 21 – releasing on the same day as Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer starring Cillian Murphy. New reports indicate that Ryan Gosling’s version of Ken will receive his own “Eighties-style power ballad”, and it will be produced by Oscar and seven-time Grammy Award-winner Mark Ronson.

Lead star Margot Robbie has also confirmed that discussions are already underway for potential sequels.

James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy’ casts Superman and Lois

James Gunn’s premature announcement of his new Superman reboot may have inadvertently doomed DC’s 2023 releases, but there has been plenty of intrigue surrounding the casting announcement of Superman: Legacy. After months of speculation, the filmmaker has announced that David Corenswet will essay the role of Clark Kent/Superman. The relatively lesser-known American actor is best known for his roles in Pearl and the drama series The Politician. Whereas Superman’s love interest and ace reporter Lois Lane will be played by Rachel Brosnahan, the Emmy award-winning lead star of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney were the other candidates who were considered for the role of Superman, while Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dyvenor auditioned for the role of Lois Lane. Superman: Legacy is scheduled for a July 11, 2025 release.
