Indian Police Force’ helmed by Rohit Shetty postponed

Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s highly-anticipated action thriller series Indian Police Force has postponed its release. The TV series, starring Siddharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty, was originally scheduled to release on Amazon Prime Video during Diwali 2023. However, the series has been delayed to avoid clashing with the ongoing Cricket World Cup. According to reports, a new release date for Shetty’s digital debut will be announced next week.

'Daredevil: Born Again' scrapped by Marvel

The three seasons of Daredevil, originally produced by Netflix, is widely regarded as The Dark Knight trilogy of superhero TV shows, owing to its grounded and compelling story. So when Disney+ took over the rights of Daredevil from Netflix and hired relatively inexperienced writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman for the sequel series Daredevil: Born Again there was plenty of scepticism. It now appears that Disney has finally pulled the plug on the upcoming project after parting ways with both writers as well as the episode directors. They are revamping the series and according to new reports, they will hire seasoned showrunners for Daredevil: Born Again  and future Marvel TV releases – abandoning their previous model of relying on executive producers, writers, and directors to oversee Marvel TV shows on Disney+.

British actor Sam Claflin, who is best known for starring in Me Before You, Peaky Blinders, and Daisy Jones and the Six, has been cast in the new The Count of Monte Cristo adaptation. Zack Snyder in talks with Dan Harmon to create a ‘Rick and Morty’ film

Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon has confirmed that he recently met with filmmaker Zack Snyder for a potential Rick and Morty film. The Emmy-award-winning series recently recast Justin Roiland, who voiced both Rick and Morty, following allegations of sexual assault. It appears creator Harmon is looking to move on from the scandal after releasing trailers for the new season with Roiland’s replacements. Harmon is also looking to adapt the hit animated series into a film and admits that the Man of Steel director Snyder could be the ideal candidate. The seventh season of Rick and Morty will premiere on Adult Swim on October 15. The first six are available to stream on Netflix in India.

Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White to play lead roles in the biopic 'The Iron Claw'

Hollywood star Zac Efron has been cast in a new biopic alongside acclaimed TV actor Jeremy Allen White, who is best known for the Shameless and The Bear. Titled The Iron Claw, the film will chronicle the tragic story of the wrestling family, the Von Erichs. The story will be told from the perspective of Kevin Von Erich, the sole surviving member of the family who will be played by Efron. The film will be helmed by Sean Durkin, and will be produced by A24, the studio behind last year’s acclaimed hits Everything Everywhere All At Once and The Whale. The biographical sports drama also stars Lily James, Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, and Holt McCallany. The Iron Claw is scheduled to release in theatres on December 22, 2023.

David Oyelowo cast in the Disney+ reboot of ‘The Rocketeer’

British actor David Oyelowo, who is best known for playing the role of Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma and recently in the dystopian Apple TV+ series Silo, has been cast in a new role. Oyelowo will play the lead in Disney’s reboot of the 1991 cult classic The Rocketeer. The original film is set in the 1930s and stars Billy Campbell in the lead with Jennifer Connelly, Timothy Dalton, and Alan Arkin playing other prominent roles.
