Fighter faces ban in Gulf Countries, except UAE, ahead of release
As Siddharth Anand's action-packed film Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone nears its India release on January 25, 2024, it has received bans in several Middle-Eastern countries, excluding the UAE. This surprising development is reportedly linked to concerns about the film's narrative, particularly its focus on India's response to the Pulwama terrorist attack.
Fighter explores high-octane aerial action sequences and revolves around the Air Dragons, an elite unit of the Indian Air Force. The film's trailer, which emphasised patriotism and India's resilience against terrorism, has generated considerable anticipation. However, the portrayal of the Pulwama attack in the movie has faced criticism from certain quarters in Pakistan, accusing it of promoting an "anti-Pakistan narrative" and fostering "cheap hatred." This criticism, coupled with the film's sensitive subject matter, has led to its ban. Despite the setback Fighter continues to be highly anticipated in India, with its visual spectacle, action sequences, and star-studded cast expected to draw audiences over the Republic Day weekend.
Additionally, the film has undergone re-certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India, following the decision to remove the song "Ishq Thoda Thoda Dono Jagah'' from the movie. The CBFC approved the song's deletion on January 22, resulting in a revised runtime of 163.55 minutes, down from the original 166.35 minutes.
‘Devara’ release featuring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan may face postponement, citing VFX and actor's injury
The highly anticipated South Indian film Devara, starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan might be forced to delay its release. The film, expected to be a two-part extravaganza, recently unveiled its first look teaser, generating significant excitement. However, sources suggest that due to the extensive use of VFX and the filmmakers' commitment to delivering a visually stunning experience, the release date might be pushed further. The intricate VFX work demands more time than initially anticipated. Additionally, Khan's injury, incurred during the action-packed sequences of the film, adds to the consideration for a delayed release. With no official announcement on the new date, fans eagerly await updates on this high-profile project directed by Kortala Siva.
Well that's all we got for this episode, until the next one it's your host Nikhil signing out.
