Eli Roth's 'Thanksgiving' releases first image of its axe-wielding killer

It was earlier reported that renowned horror filmmaker Eli Roth is helming a new horror slasher titled Thanksgiving. The film stars Patrick Dempsey, Milo Manheim, Addison Rae, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon in prominent roles. The plot is set in the small town of Plymouth, Massachusetts where the American Thanksgiving holiday is celebrated with great fervour by its residents. However, the festivities take a dark turn when an axe-wielding killer turns up to wreak havoc. The first-look images of the film’s main antagonist were recently revealed on social media. Thanksgiving will hit theatres on November 17.

'The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial' starring Kiefer Sutherland and Lance Reddick releases teaser

The release date of the upcoming courtroom drama The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial has been announced. The film is helmed by legendary American filmmaker William Friedkin, who is best known for helming iconic films such as The Exorcist and The French Connection. Friedkin sadly passed away in August this year at the age of 87. The film is an adaptation of Herman Wouk’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and play, which tells the story of a naval officer who is court-martialed for taking over command of a ship through mutiny. The film stars Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Clarke, and Monica Raymund along with the late John Wick star Lance Reddick, who also tragically passed away earlier this year. The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial will premiere on October 6 in the US and is expected to release in India later this year.

Joel Kinnaman plays the lead in John Woo’s revenge thriller ‘Silent Night’

The Suicide Squad and Altered Carbon star Joel Kinnaman plays the lead in the upcoming revenge thriller Silent Night. The film is helmed by Hong Kong-based filmmaker John Woo, who has directed action films such as Hard Target, Face/Off, and Mission: Impossible 2 – marking his return to Hollywood since directing the 2003 film Paycheck, starring  Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman. The upcoming film revolves around a vengeful father hunting down the gangsters responsible for his son’s death. Silent Night releases in theatres on December 1.

Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey play lead roles in romantic thriller series

White Collar and Doom Patrol lead actor Matt Bomer is set to play the lead alongside Bridgeton star Jonathan Bailey in the upcoming queer romantic thriller series Fellow Travelers. The series examines the lives of gay couple Tim and Hawkins who endure discrimination as America goes through a politically turbulent time. The story chronicles four decades of their lives and is set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War, AIDS crisis, Cold War, and more. The series is based on Thomas Mallon's eponymous novel. Fellow Travelers will premiere on streaming platforms on October 29.

Netflix releases trailer for sci-fi anime series ‘Pluto’

Netflix has released the trailer of the highly-anticipated anime series Pluto. Helmed by Naoki Urasawa, the story is inspired by Osamu Tezuka's iconic manga series Astro Boy. Pluto is touted to be a more serious and gritty take on Astro Boy and is set in a world where the delicate peace between robots and humans is threatened when a Swiss robot is murdered. Pluto will premiere on Netflix on October 26.

Apple TV+ drama  'Criminal Record', starring Peter Capaldi, releases first look

British actor Peter Capaldi, who is best known for his portrayal of the twelfth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who, is set to play the lead in the upcoming Apple TV+ drama, Criminal Record. Capaldi plays the role of an ace detective who is competing with a rival detective, played by The Good Fight actress Cush Jumbo, to solve a series of murders. The TV show is helmed by Paul Rutman and features Shaun Dooley, Charlie Creed-Miles, and Dionne Brown in supporting roles. Criminal Record will premiere on Apple TV+ on January 12, 2024.
