Sivakarthikeyan's surprise visit to theatre in Hyderabad; watches College Don with audience

Audience at a theatre in Hyderabad were in for a surprise recently when actor Sivakarthikeyan paid them a sudden visit. Video of the Don actor entering a movie hall where College Don is being screened, watching the film with the audience and later, posing with fans are doing the rounds on social media. The actor also took the opportunity to thank his fans for making the film a success at the box office.

Sivakarthikeyan's latest offering Don hit screens on May 13. The film was also released in Telugu as College Don. Priyanka Mohan plays the leading lady in it, while SJ Suryah plays the antagonist. The film marks the directorial debut of Cibi Chakravarthi and the star cast also includes Soori, Samuthirakani, Sivaangi, RJ Vijay, and Munishkanth. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander. Sivakarthikeyan had taken to his social media page to wish the director on his maiden venture. He had written, "Excited and extremely happy to present you #DON ❤️ @Dir_Cibi ‘s maiden directorial venture, hope you all wil lik this film.. DON is all yours now ❤️❤️👍 #DONfromToday (sic)."

Don has Sivakarthikeyan playing a college student. The portions have been extensively shot across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Pollachi and Udumalpettai. Cinematography for the film is by KM Bhaskaran and editing is Nagooran Ramachandran.

The comedy campus caper opened to positive reviews from critics and the audience. The film distributed by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu, had a good opening.The movie is considered to be the second biggest opener for Siva after Seemaraja which released in 2018.

The latest we hear about the film is that Superstar Rajinikanth himself called up Sivakarthikeyan after watching the film. He had appreciated the actor for his performance in the film and had stated that he couldn't control his tears in the last 30 minutes of the film. This appreciation has come as a huge shot in the arm for fans.
