The title announcement video was released by Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu
The title of Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film with director Madonne Ashwin was released recently. The film, which was until now referred to as SK 22, is now officially titled Maaveeran. The Telugu title of the bilingual film is Mahaveerudu. Now, we hear that the title announcement video, which was released by Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu, has already crossed 2 million views.
Taking to his social media page, Mahesh Babu wished the entire team of Maveeran and wrote, "Happy to unveil the title of @Siva_Kartikeyan's #Maaveeran! Best wishes to the entire team! https://youtu.be/v_5NBJ2Urxo #Mahaveerudu @madonneashwin @ShanthiTalkies @iamarunviswa @bharathsankar12 @vidhu_ayyanna @philoedit (sic)." To which Sivakarthikeyan replied, "This is a great start for the film and to the team.. Thank you so much for your kind gesture @urstrulyMahesh sir.. Indeed a very special moment for me sir ๐๐โค๏ธ #Maaveeran (sic)." Madonne Ashwin had earlier directed the critically acclaimed film, Mandela, which starred Yogi Babu in the lead.
The buzz is that Sivakarthikeyan plays an Army officer in the film. In the title announcement video, we see Sivakarthikeyan's character being beaten up at first. Later, we see a shadow and strings that seem to lift up Sivakarthikeyan. Soon the strings are untethered and Sivakarthikeyan, who regains consciousness is seen taking on the villains. The star cast of the film is yet to be announced. Music for the film is by Bharath Shankar, and cinematography is by Vidhu Ayyanna. Editing is by Philomin Raj. Maveeran is bankrolled by Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies.
In the meantime, Sivakarthikeyan is gearing up for his next release, Prince, directed by Anudeep KV of Jathi Ratnalu (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) fame. The film marks the debut of Ukrainain model Maria Ryaboshapka in Tamil. Sathyaraj and Premgi Amaren are also part of the star cast. Prince, which is touted to be a fun entertainer, is gearing up to hit screens for Diwali.
