Sivakarthikeyan's Doctor features in Netflix's top 10 global movies in the non-English section

Nelson Dilipkumar's Doctor which released in theatres on October 9, continues to attract movie buffs even after two weeks of its OTT premiere. The movie is considered as the gamechanger in Kollywood as the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer brought back film lovers to movie halls after they started functioning post the second lockdown.

The star's performance, wacky, but entertaining screenplay and Anirudh's background score were the key elements in the project which received appreciation from both the audience and critics. Priyanka Arul Mohan played the female lead in it while Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Vinay Rai, Arun Alexander and Archana among others played pivotal roles.

Doctor had a television premiere on November 4, followed by OTT premiere on Netflix and Sun NXT on the same day. Now, the movie has achieved a rare feat which was revealed by both Sivakarthikeyan Productions and KJR Studios, the production houses which jointly produced the film.

According to them, Doctor has featured in Netflix's top 10 global movies in the non-English section for the last two weeks. It is also Netflix's third most viewed film in India over the last two weeks.

The social media handle of Sivakarthikeyan Productions tweeted, "#Doctor enters the @netflix Global Top 10 List. The only regional-Tamil film in the global list for the past 2 weeks. Also, it is the third most viewed film in India over the last 2 weeks. Thanks to all for this tremendous response & love #DOCTORinNetflixGlobalTOP10 (sic)."

Interestingly, the movie's Telugu version is the fifth most viewed film in the country in the last two weeks. Yara, 7 Prisoners, The Claus Family, Meenakshi Sundareshwar, The Forgotten Battle, Stuck Together, Lords of Scam, Fierce and Der Fall Collini are the other films that have been featured in the streaming giant's top 10 global movies in the non-English section in the last week.
