Anticipation is building for the OTT release of Sivakarthikeyan's recent film Ayalaan.
There is significant anticipation for the OTT release of Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's latest movie Ayalaan. The movie's streaming rights lie with SunNXT and you can expect it to arrive on the streaming by the second week of February.
According to the sources, the movie is likely to start streaming on or after February 12. While an official confirmation is awaited, this aligns with the common practice of new Tamil films making their streaming debut within five weeks of their initial theatrical release.
In the meantime, Sivakarthikeyan is busy promoting Ayalaan in the Telugu states. While the filmmakers planned a simultaneous release of the movie in Tamil and Telugu, it didn't come to pass due to high competition at the Tollywood box office.
In order to cash in on the Sankranti holiday, four high-profile Telugu releases including Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram and the superhero movie HanuMan released in theatres. As the distributors struggled to accommodate the latest Telugu arrivals, the makers of Ayalaan were forced to postpone the movie's release.
Not just Ayalaan, the Telugu version of Dhanush's Captain Miller also skipped the release on January 12 owing to this reason.
The Telugu version of Ayalaan will finally hit the screens on January 26. And Sivakarthikeyan is doing his best to promote the movie amid the reports about Ayalaan failing to inspire good pre-release buzz in the Telugu states .
Not just the Telugu version, but even the Tamil version of Ayalaan faced After facing several delays before it saw the light of day. The journey from its conception in 2016 to its upcoming 2024 release spanned eight years, marked by multiple setbacks. However, thanks to Sivakarthikeyan's faith in director R. Ravikumar's vision, he remained attached to the project for all these years. He even gave up his salary to allow the producers to spend on necessary expenses to complete this movie.

Ayalaan opened in cinemas worldwide on January 12 and received positive reviews. Even though it was overshaded by Captain Miller at first, it managed to slowly gain traction with the family audiences and eventually overtook the former in terms of global collection .
According to producers, Ayalaan has earned more than Rs 75 crore from its worldwide ticket sales so far.
Ayalaan is a sci-fi drama, delving into the experiences of an alien navigating the city of Chennai. The film features a stellar supporting cast including Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, and Isha Koppikar.
