Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran nears completion. The film also stars Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Lallu in undisclosed roles, with rumours of a cameo by Kamal Haasan.
The shooting of Amaran, Sivakarthikeyan's new film has reached the final stages of shooting and the makers have nearly wrapped up with the filming. Announcing the same on social media, the team shared a short video of the team, along with the protagonist played by Sivakarthikeyan.
Amaran is directed by filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy, who previously helmed Rangoon. Multi-faceted artist and politician Kamal Haasan is backing the film under the home banner of Raaj Kamal Films International. Headlined by Sivakarthikeyan, the film is a biopic of Mukund Varadarajan, who was a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his operation with the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion.
On Saturday, the team shared a small video hinting at the final frame of the film, featuring Sivakarthikeyan, Rajkumar and stunt coordinators AnbAriv. The post was captioned, “DAY IS DONE”… the final frame and its time for the gun salute.”
Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, the film also stars actors Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Lallu in significant roles. Their roles are kept under wraps. Rumours suggest that there is a key cameo by Kamal Haasan. But an official confirmation is awaited.

A release date for Amaran is yet to be announced. As per reports, the film is expected to hit theatres sometime in August. The film will be Sivakarthikeyan’s first biopic drama in his career. The cinematography for the film will be handled by Ch Sai, with R Kalaivanan as the editor. The post-theatrical streaming rights of Amaran have been bagged by Netflix. GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for Amaran.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan who was last seen in Ayalaan which released earlier this year, is also working with filmmaker AR Murugadoss for a yet-to-be titled film. The project will have Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead. It is currently under production.
