Sivakarthikeyan to star in Rajkumar Periasamy’s next directorial, produced by Kamal Haasan’s banner

The upcoming film will be jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International along with Sony Pictures Films India

Even the ravages of the pandemic cannot seem to stop Sivakarthikeyan from adding to his stellar filmography. The Kollywood star’s next project was unveiled recently. It will see him team up with director Rajkumar Periasamy. The upcoming film will be produced under Kamal Haasan’s banner, Raaj Kamal Films International.

The exciting news was unveiled on the official social media handles of Raaj Kamal Films International. The banner had teased fans of an upcoming announcement today at 6 PM, and as promised, they delivered. The announcement accompanied a photograph featuring Kamal, Sivakarthikeyan and Rajkumar together. They were all smiles while posing for the photo. The post also included a poster for the project, tentatively referred to as Production #51. The caption mentioned that Raaj Kamal Films International would be collaborating with Sony Pictures Films India for producing the upcoming project.

The upcoming film will mark Rajkumar’s second directorial venture after the 2017 film, Rangoon.

Kamal had started his production banner, initially called Haasan Brothers, way back in 1981 with its first production being the film Raja Paarvai. Raaj Kamal Films International has produced several of the star’s films such as Hey Ram (2000), Virumaandi (2004), Chachi 420 (1997), Thoongaa Vanam (2015) and Vishwaroopam (2013). The star’s late brother, Chandrahasan had also been a part of the company.

Meanwhile Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Doctor. The actor has a string of films in the pipeline at the moment, including Don, Ayalaan and Singapathai.

In addition to his role as a producer, Kamal is also awaiting the release of his film, Vikram, which is also being produced by his banner. The film will see him share the screen with Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil.
