Sivakarthikeyan approaches Madras High Court; files a petition against Gnanavel Raja for delay in pending salary

Sivakarthikeyan played the lead role in producer Gnanavel Raja's Mr Local which was directed by M Rajesh. The movie, which had Nayanthara essaying the female lead in it, released in theatres in 2019. The film had opened to negative reviews from critics and audience alike.

Now, the actor has approached the Madras High Court and filed a petition against Gnanavel for the delay in pending remuneration of four crores. Siva's salary for the project was 15 crores and he has been paid only 11 crores till now. The two hasn't spoken about the issue in public till now. The Doctor star also accused the producer for not deducting and remitting TDS to the Income Tax Department.

Fans of Siva, Gnanavel's team and other movie buffs are eagerly waiting to know if they will take to social media to express their views on the same. Mr Local marked the first collaboration of Siva and Gnanavel. According to a report in The Hindu, the actor has requested the court to prevent the producer from making more investments in the latter’s upcoming films Pathu Thala, Chiyaan 61 and Rebel.

Siva's request also includes curtailing the producer from signing deal with others with regard to the theatrical and digital rights of the latter's ongoing projects.

Pathu Thala directed by Obeli N Krishna has Silambarasan playing the lead role in it. Chiyaan 61, which is yet to go on floors, has Vikram essaying the lead role while Pa Ranjith will be at its helm.

Rebel has GV Prakash headlining the project which has debutant Nikesh RS wielding the megaphone. Siva, on the other hand, has Don which will have a theatrical release on May 13. The movie was earlier supposed to hit the screens on March 25, but the arrival of RRR made them push the release by around 50 days.
